GoMo News turns 2 today. What an amazing two years and we have grown from a small blog to a business with investment and full time staff, regular sponsors and an army of regular readers.

I can only say - THANK-YOU. This site is going to be redeveloped we will have an iPhone application and lots of other sexy new features… its very very exciting and I feel that a new era for GoMo is actually starting today.

Bouygues Telecom Deploys Verimatrix Content Security for IPTV Service

Verimatrix develop security technologies for pay-TV networks. Today it announced that Bouygues Telecom is the latest network operator in France to deploy it’s Video Content Authority System (VCAS) for IPTV.  BouyguesTelecom is securing its MPEG-4 live broadcast and on-demand video content delivered via ASDL to the BBOX home gateway.

Nokia.mobi’s Here and Now - does anyone really care?

Nokia’s mobile internet site, Nokia.mobi, has launched it’s own entertainment portal. Here and Now is automatically bookmarked on every new Nokia handset released. It provides users with the latest world news, music and celebrity gossip. It also has information on Nokia services and products.

AdMob’s Download Tracking service shows games and free apps are biggest hits

Starting last December, a limited number of iPhone apps began testing AdMob’s new tracking service for downloads. The full service has been launched today, so that advertisers can accurately monitor App Store conversion rates. The service measures clicks on ads that lead to completed downloads of the advertised app. AdMob has revealed some of the trends already seen since the test began in December.

mDialog launch pre and post-roll ads for video content on iPhone

iPhone video delivery platform mDialog has announced it’s own advertising service. The mDialog Ad Delivery platform (mAD) was launched at the MacWorld Expo today. The platform lets content producers and advertisers deliver 5 - 10 second pre or post-roll ads and coupons on iPhone video content.

Juniper Research claims mobile coupon and barcode companies could benefit from the downturn

Some good news for mobile barcoders, from Juniper Research. It has released a report claiming that companies sending coupons via mobile barcodes will enjoy a massive surge in the coming lean years. According to the report, consumers looking for savings are far more likely to use targeted coupons sent direct to their phone.

First Clearwire WiMAX 4G network launched today in Portland

Clearwire officially rolled out it’s first WiMAX network in Portland today. Clearwire has been running broadband networks in other countries for a few years now, but the Portland launch marks it’s first launch of a 4G network. This follows it’s merging with Sprint’s WiMax network, Xohm. Since then, Clearwire has been erecting masts and preparing network areas in various US cities, including Washington, D.C. and Chicago, but Portland is the first to go live.
