Rating: Mention on breakfast show promotes iPhone app
Here’s a successful way to get your iPhone app promoted. Get it mentioned on your local radio station. That’s what happened with Couple Talk written by a Wokingham counsellor, Paul Cockayne. The iPhone app got a star mention on the breakfast show at Radio Jackie which covers North Surrey and South West London. OTT Communication Services vs Rich Communication Services
Press comment from Coleago
WhatsApp and other Over the Top (OTT) communication services are not only impacting on SMS but also on voice usage. The mobile operator community is fighting back with its Rich Communication Services (RCS) initiative. “For consumers, it will deliver an experience beyond voice and SMS by providing them with instant messaging or chat, live video sharing and file transfer across any device, on any network, with anyone in their mobile address book. RCS-e taps into how your consumers are already sharing their life moments with each other.” (source: RCS-e website). This sounds familiar because this is what Skype, FaceTime, and WhatsApp are delivering today. Continue reading

GREE? GREE? Who on Earth is GREE?
Rating: Actually it is already a major player
It struck us here at GoMo Towers that the recent announcement from GREE concerning its bid to build a billion user social network is crying out for some form of background information. Especially since the company’s name probably isn’t known much outside of Japan. The fact that GREE has begun to expand internationally can be seen from its decision to open offices into eight countries worldwide within just one year. Alongside its announcement of its intent to support 14 different languages. Here’s the clincher. In terms of global internet companies, GREE claims to be in the Number 14 slot but it doesn’t have to grow that much to get into the Top Ten. Continue reading
