3 in Ireland has signed up to the BeboOpen Mobile programme for mobile operator. Basically it is a mobile messaging toolkit that will enable users to access Bebo from their 3 mobile seamlessly.
From the press release
“The user response to Bebo messaging on 3 has validated the appeal of Bebo messaging as a two-way channel to connect Bebo users with the friends and content they care about,” said Sean Kane, Global Head of Mobile, Bebo. “We’re also breaking new ground with video. In order to reach its potential video on mobile needs to be a social experience – Bebo Open Mobile Video finally connects friends and content.
Elaine Carey, Sales Director of 3, stated: “At launch, 3 will be the only mobile operator in Ireland that offers this full Bebo content social networking experience. Innovation and value is what we at 3 strive for and the speed at which people are subscribing to Bebo applications shows it’s also exactly what our customers demand.”
What we think?
The essence of this is: Bebo Open Mobile Internet – which hosts a number of navigation features to make the Bebo UI on the 3 Mobile simple. There is also a short code 53231 that will allow for direct upload of photos and a video arm which will allow users to share video content from mobile on Bebo.
This is interesting good for Bebo and follows some other Bebo initiatives with the likes of Orange.
