3 UK teams up with Spotify and HTC

Rating: Bundling with HTC Hero – 3′s first Android

Next month [November 2009], 3 UK will offer HTC’s Hero Android handset with a special tariff bundling the Spotify Premium service.3 will thus provide participants with access to Spotify’s extensive jukebox over its 3G network and enable access to playlists while offline.

Naturally, the HTC Hero will give 3′s customers access to the thousands of applications available from Android Marketplace.

The Spotify Mobile tariff – initially only available only with the HTC Hero – will cost £35 a month on a 24 month contract plus a one-off fee of £99.

The package includes unlimited Spotify Premium for both mobile and PC for two years which the partners claim is worth £240.

Included in the tariff are also free Skype-to –Skype calls and unlimited email, internet browsing and Facebook.

“Over time our deal with Spotify will extend across a range of our products including Mobile Broadband,” said Charlotte Blanchard, Director of Products and Services at 3.

The HTC Hero is a five megapixal cameraphone with a 3.2 inch LCD capacitive touch screen. It also boasts support for HSDPA and  A-GPS.

Internal memory is only 512 MB, although it does support up to 8GB on an SD Card. Is that going to be enough for all your music, though?
