3Jam Twitters

by: Bena Roberts Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

I have to say that I have semi-stopped using Twitter (GoMo Twitter here) because I am so busy. I loved it but with all the troubles and constant lack of “Replies” or direct messages turning up 3 days late – my excitement has burst.

I might not be the only one feeling like this and last week Twitter announced that Twitter users outside of the US would no longer receive SMS tweets.

See here: http://blog.twitter.com/2008/08/some-sms-perspective.html

But, do not fear. Apparently the guys from 3jam is here! I haven’t tested 3jam yet –but I do have a beta invite. It might be worth grabbing a demo at CTIA.

So what has 3jam done

It has launched a service that allows Twitter users to get direct messages using 3Jam cheap pre-pay SMS services.

Is this a business model that Twitter should have used
Yep. It sounds like it. In fact, 3jam is putting itself firmly on Twitter’s radar and is even going to offer a @replies service.

What we think?
Twitter – collaborate or buy 3jam and earn revenue – don’t just turn of services.
