4G mobile internet update: LG reveals its first commercial LTE modem

Mobile manufacturer LG Electronics has unveiled the fist commercial LTE modem in the world - although it won’t really have anything to run on until next year. The 4G modem was shown off during the ComunicAsia 2009 expo in Singapore.

The USB modem is reported to hit speeds up 100Mbps - although it’s best to take claims like that with a pinch of salt. There are no hard details from LG about the device yet, like when it will be released, or what kind of cost you can expect to pay for it. But I’m just very excited to see this kind of hardware for LTE. It’s like finding out that Santa Clause is real.
