Rating: watch this space mobile tagging, smart barcodes, QR codes will be huge

Abaxia has announced that its MobileTag application will feature on the Nokia N70 Black in France. It has been customized for a French mobile operator (probably Bouygues) to offer direct access to content information, WAP or WEB portals by taking a picture of a Tag.

A Tag for the novice is a small square symbol that can be inserted into any text on a paper document, tv-advert etc. Basically N70 users see the MobileTag on an advert and then take a picture of it and within seconds heaps of info, contact details etc. on the business will be delivered to the mobile device.
Mobile tagging or QR codes as they are known in Asia are the “next big thing”. Abaxia is big player in the space as is neomedia (qode).

France is miles ahead of Europe when it comes to mobile tagging and has been working and promoting the mobile TAG or QR service for the past 12 months.

Hi Roger,
I am not sure! Thanks for introducing me to your company - I am currently writing a report on these services - perhaps we can schedule a call.
You seem to be the expert!
