Accor Vodafone WLAN in Berlin

by: Bena Roberts Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

So I feel a rant coming on. I am fuming that yesterday I spend EUR 24.95 on 24 hours of mobile Internet access only to find that there was no interoperability between hotels in Berlin.

So, before I purchased the 24 hours service I phoned up my hotel in Prenzlauer Berg and asked if they had Vodafone Wifi. They said “yes”. So I thought great. I can use it all day and then log on again back at the hotel after the conference.

Wrong.

For some completely stupid reason there is zero interoperability if you buy Vodafone Wifi in one hotel and then move to another one. This is despite not using a hotel voucher and buying online.

How horrendous is that?

So I have now spent an additional EUR 8 to get online at my hotel and the time credit runs out by the minute – you can’t use it again. So tomorrow at the conference, I will have to buy more credit to go online again.

This is horrendous. The only packages available are 24 hours or 2 hours. I mean what is that for choice?
Vodafone WLAN and Accor – BAD.
