Mobile advertising enters the podcasting space once more. This time Ad Infuse, is enabling mobile adverts on the animated New Yorker Cartoon podcast series.

From the press release:
“By ad enabling these vignettes, we are able to connect brands in the mobile space with the sophisticated New Yorker demographic while introducing ad revenue support for New Yorker content as they venture into this new and exciting medium,” said Ian Johnson, CEO and founder of Ad Infuse. “We are delighted to add RingTales to our list of content partners.”

“RingTales is committed to bringing the best of print comics to life in the digital world through animation,” said Michael Fry, President of RingTales. “For our New Yorker Cartoon Podcast, Ad Infuse is allowing us to offer advertisers a very targeted way of delivering their message at the end of each animated short, which enables us to offer the content free to our subscribers.”

What we think?
Well all adverts are annoying but for free podcasts – why not. It might brighten up the morning. Its not clear if this is mobile via MP3 or mobile via mobile phone podcasts. Either way - the mobile phone is the way forward for new mobile podcasting services such as these.
