adMob 5 billions ads – but fails to show GoMo News the money
Rating: value, man where’s the value?

First of all congratulations adMob on shifting 5 billion ads – sounds impressive when other companies are fighting hard to get to the first billion milestone.
BUT (and, as usual it is a very big BUT) what does it actually mean?
You can clearly view on the adMob site what ads are served and when. This is great for advertisers as it shows that their brand or message is being pushed and distributed globally. But what do publishers have to gain?
We have had adMob on our very basic WAP site for a few weeks now. We have said “yes” to every advertiser and ads are placed regularly and constantly – but have we made any money?
Well, quite frankly no. Is it worth serving ads when you aren’t making any money? Um.. tough one.. but perhaps NO is the answer.
We have made:
ad balance: $0.00 | add funds
pending earnings: $ 1.15
To be fair our WAP site is crap and we need to revamp it and we are not sure if it’s got anything to do with the improvement of mobile browsers – but our WAP traffic has also decreased 4 fold since we added adMob (but we are not blaming adMob for this!). We also changed the RSS feed and the added three other services on mobile that allows GoMo News to be viewed on mobile.
Anyway – adMob has failed us on the side of publishing – but we are about to run a USD 100 campaign and lets see if it brings us site traffic and how long it takes adMob to serve our ads and eat our money.
But anyway – I do strongly believe that the UBER simple interface of adMob online is behind its success and competitors need to look and learn. Here are a few screen shots and what is most interesting is the special offer. These promotions are essential to drive traffic and keep up volume and must be adMob’s golden ticket.
