Am I the only one who thinks Mobile Search is hot?
As the first ever mobile search analyst (can I write in the world - without sounding arrogant?) - I have been a believer that mobile search is the future of the mobile Internet. But after spending two great days as a mobile operator and mobile advertising conference hosted by Mobixell - I felt an air of concern.
I am not sure why - but every time I mentioned advertising eyes lit up with the prospect of finally getting ROI on mobile content. But with the search aspect of things difficult questions on how effective mobile search was or paid search vs banner ads - were dismissed with answers such as “who searches on mobile”.
For me - search/ advertising and content are so interlinked - that only those that have the vision will prevail.
What is the vision?
Well, one search box as the face of the Internet - regardless of off-portal or on-portal.
Is that it?
No. On top of this - search needs to be like coffee and cakes with advertising. But types of search need to be delivered not just online search engine replications….. or indeed mere online search engines.
Actually a really good example of a creative mobile operator search engine is up next.
