America gains foothold in Canada… as Quattro Wireless gets contract to mobilise TSN Mobile
Rating: Mobile sports-news service re-launched with US advertiser on board.
CTV, Canada’s largest independent TV network, are re-launching one of their most popular mobile web brands. The mobile version of the TSN sports website is being updated to keep abreast of developments in mobile technology. Quattro Wireless has designed the site to publish on Quattro’s platform.
What can users expect?
The actual sports content of the site isn’t going to be affected. The addition of the Quattro platform means that subscribers are going to encounter a HELL of a lot more targeted advertising. It’ll also mean that TSN Mobile will be able to publish smoothly on a larger variety of mobile devices, as Quattro’s platform is updated to display on any handheld device.
From the Press Release:
“CTV is a media and entertainment leader and, with their mobile investments with Quattro, demonstrates the critical ability of mobile to reach, communicate and engage their dedicated audiences in all mediums,” said Steven Rosenblatt, Vice President of Advertising Sales for Quattro Wireless. “Not only will Quattro be able to develop and power their popular online destinations, but we will be able to channel new revenue opportunity for the company with the significant reach and ROI effectiveness of mobile.”
“We are totally committed to offering Canadian sports fans the best content experience wherever they are,” said Stephan Argent, Vice-President, CTV Digital Media Group. “This partnership represents one more way that CTV and our family of brands are committed to engaging our audiences and connecting our advertisers with that audience.”
What we think?
Both companies are (unsurprisingly) unstintingly positive about the announcement, but Quattro has much more to gain from it than CTV. This is the latest addition to an impressive list of sites that Quattro is mobilizing, and with the already large audience that TSN Mobile attracts its targeted services are going to be in huge demand.
