Mobile advertising company Amobee and beeweeb technologies have formed a partnership to enable ad-funding on mobile TV, music and mobile entertainment systems.
beeweeb?
Beeweeb is a software company that has solutions for designs and user interfaces and provides services to mobile operators such as Hutchison, Vodafone, Wind and Telecom Italia. This partnership is for inserting advers into beeweeb’s beeTV and music beePlayer.
From the press release
“Like Amobee, we believe that bringing advertising into the mobile entertainment value chain is one of the key ways to take the industry to the next level,” said Filippo De Vita, Products and Marketing Director at beeweeb. “The additional revenue stream and the ad-funded payment model will help all players in the value chain deliver an increasingly attractive proposition, and open mobile TV to a wider audience of mobile consumers than previously possible.”
Saurav Chopra, Director of Business Development for Amobee, said: “Our vision is to accelerate growth and help shape the future of mobile entertainment through creating an ecosystem of leading players across the value chain. beeweeb has a successful track record of innovation in mobile TV and music, and this partnership will help illustrate the market potential for operators, advertisers and content providers alike.”
What we think?
This is another strategic partnership for Amobee (which we decipher as meaning potential revenue share investment). The others include Hungama for ad-funded Bollywood content, SDC for ad-funded music, Exit Games for gaming and Anam Mobile for ad-funded messaging.
I met Amobee at CTIA and I am upset that I didn’t ask to view the Bollywood content – it might have been something I could have downloaded for my mother who has finally got her first mobile phone.
But back to the point, its very early days still for advertising and ad-funded games –but Amobee seems to be walking in the right direction.
