Sprint is to launch a service in collaboration with Loopt that will allow its customers to find out where their friends are. Sprint already offers this find-your-friends through its subsidiary, Boost. It will now be made available on 25 of the phones offered by Sprint and cost USD 2.99 a month.

Subscribers set up a buddy list which allows those on the list to find them, but they can turn the service off, block individual buddies or the whole lot.

Well, it wouldn’t suit me, but there again, I only tend to lose a friend a couple of times a decade. Obviously though, it went down a treat with Boost’s customers, which is why Sprint has extended it.
