Antenna & Huawei ally to aid BYOD rollouts

Rating: Huawei will resell the AMPchroma offering

A bit of a feather in the cap for Antenna Software which has been able to utilise the CeBIT 2013 show in Hanover to announce a prestigious link with Chinese telecoms giant, Huawei. Huawei will resell Antenna’s mobile enterprise platform, AMPchroma, as part of the Huawei BYOD Mobility Solution. The pair claim that the solution will addresses the key IT challenge many enterprises are struggling with in the shape of employees bringing their own devices to work (BYOD).

According to a June 2012 report [BYOD: From Company-issued to Employee-owned Devices] from McKinsey & Company around 77 per cent of CIOs currently state that they will allow some form of consumerisation (ie BYOD) in the coming years.

Huawei can provide a wide array of products focused on cloud computing, network, security, and application collaboration as part of its Huawei BYOD Mobility Solution.

Now, with the Antenna link-up, it can offer a new mobile enterprise application platform (MEAP) component in the shape of the AMPchroma platform for customers to build, run, and manage mobile applications and content.

Jim Hemmer, CEO with Antenna Software, commented, “With AMPchroma as the underpinning mobile platform, [Huawei's] BYOD mobile office program will provide a true enterprise mobile office system, enabling its enterprise customers with a secure, unified platform for mobile applications across the IT network.”

AMPchroma helps enterprises free themselves of the constraints of time and space by linking office applications to a mobile device that can be used anytime, anywhere.

The platform allows companies to realize the potential that applications hold for their business and reduces the cost of that investment by rapidly enabling a mobile application to be used across a variety devices and operating systems.

AMPchroma will provide the platform to mobilise Huawei BYOD solutions, and Antenna will assist Huawei with development services to build mobile applications on this platform.
