There are quite a few new services being launched by AOL owned MapQuest.

1. MapQuest is offering navigation on mobile for USD 4.99 a month
2. MapQuest has teamed up with Telmap to upgrade the MapQuest Navigator
3. MapQuest is now available for direct download and has new features such as Live Traffic, Gas (Petrol) prices and the AOL City Guide.

What we think?
We keep saying, time and time again that on device portals are in. USD 4.99 (GBP 2.50) per month sounds reasonable but additional data charges might apply for real time updates and traffic information. The demo on the site via video is here and it looks nifty: http://beta.mapquest.com/features/slashmobile_navigator#nav5video

As a European the way the guy in the video says Route is terrible its ROUUTE on ROWT.
