AOL’s Platform A offers iPhone Optimised banner solution

by: Bena Roberts Thursday, September 4th, 2008

You all know that AOL bought Third Screen Media and has integrated it into Platform A. Well now it has launched what it is calling a targeted solution for iPhone users.

Huh?
Well, it says that when users are browsing iPhone sites within the Third Screen mobile network or advertising.com they will be directed to optimised sites or ad placement pages made for the iPhone.

From the press release
“Today’s launch is a perfect example of how Platform-A’s unmatched reach, solutions and technologies can benefit advertisers trying to reach consumers in the most compelling way,” said Lynda Clarizio, President of Platform-A. “We can not only help advertisers effectively reach iPhone users on WAP pages and Web pages, but we can also deliver banners optimized for display on the iPhone.”

What we think?
I hate or rain on anyone’s parade here – but this isn’t rocket science. If anyone would like to direct users to optimised pages for any mobile device please consult with me at visibility mobile (when we launch next week).
