…Combined fixed and mobile test solutions look to enhance the mobile landscape…
Surrey, UK - Tuesday 11 March, 2008 - In line with its growth strategy, Ascom, international solution provider for Wireless Solutions, has announced that its Mobile Test Solution business unit has made a significant expansion through the acquisition of Argo Interactive Ltd. (Argogroup) and Argogroup GmbH, the leader in user experience optimization for mobile services.
With customers in the USA, Europe and Asia, Argogroup is the leading global supplier for mobile and converged service testing using ‘fixed’ probes. Operating in the same market, Ascom’s Mobile Test Solutions division is an industry leader with its ‘mobile’ (drive and walk) test solutions.
The combined strength of ‘fixed’ and ‘mobile’ test will result in a best of breed proposition that will offer operators a complete view of their network, for both traditional and emerging mobile services.
David Frodsham, Argogroup CEO said, “As the company that was instrumental in the foundation of fixed active test and who first introduced the concept of ‘User Experience’ into the market, we believe this is an important step and takes the industry to the next level”. He continued, “The combination of fixed and mobile test will be compelling: it will help maintain quality and drive the adoption of next generation services.”
The CEO of Ascom, Riet Cadonau said, ”This acquisition is an important milestone in the Ascom growth strategy and marks another success for the Mobile Test Solutions business unit. Mobile network operators now have a world leading supplier of test systems for exciting new mobile services.”
