Atos Origin InfoGin deploy Mobile Internet Services at Telefonica Spain
IT company Atos Origin and content adaptation company InfoGin will enable Telefonica de Espana’s mobile business with their services.
What is the deal?
Atos Origin was contracted to manage the mobile Internet services and they signed up InfoGin’s Intelligent Mobile Platform to assist.
From the press release:
This new solution supports Telefónica’s strategy to facilitate access to mobile content and deliver innovative and attractive services to its subscribers giving an optimized access to web sites that aren’t mobile compliant.
“We are very happy with the outcome of this collaboration, it has enabled us to provide end- to- end
services to Telefónica’s end users and guarantee the highest quality of service requirements,” said
Miguel Bravo, Telefonica Executive Key Account Manager, Atos Origin. “The partnership builds on Atos Origin’s long track record of successful deployment and management of enhanced critical revenue services at Telefónica.”
“We are delighted that Telefónica has joined the list of global tier-1 operators in Europe, through its
strategic move to provide mobile users with the best real Internet experience,” said Eran Wyler, CEO & Founder of InfoGin. “This will inevitably drive a significant increase in user uptake of these new
services over the coming years.”
What we think?
What a huge deployment in Spain’s leading provider. I am not sure where this fits now with other search/ content adaptation deals. Doesn’t JumpTap have a deal with Openwave and Yahoo! with Novarra? (Both mobile search providers on Telefonica).
Will JumpTap and Yahoo manage their own results and InfoGin cater for the rest? I feel a briefing with the lovely Eran Wyler coming on.
