AT&T vs T-Mobile in the US - buying a prepaid SIM

by: Bena Roberts Monday, September 8th, 2008

So here I am in San Francisco and I went to the AT&T shop first today and Peter the sales guy was great. He tested my phone, checked it could work went through all my options - added a USD 19.99 MediaNet package and fought with the awful voice recognition voice CRM software with me.

It was great I now have a US Mobile Phone Number 415 - 420 9247 which will be on 24×7 for the next week.

The above was for a SIM for my N95.

Then I went to T-Mobile to get a SIM for my iPhone.  See: http://www.flixwagon.com/watch/733041

I thought it would be really easy as I have a T-Mobile Germany iPhone. BUT - guess what. T-Mobile Germany SIM is locked from T-Mobile USA - how crap is that?

So - I couldn’t get one. The guy at the T-Mobile Shop was very nice but he couldn’t help me and that was that -

AT&T - 5 points - T-Mobile USA 0 points.
