Trial Demonstrates Readiness for LTE Roaming
April 11th 2013. Transaction Network Services (TNS), a leading global provider of data communications and interoperability solutions, Diametriq, a leader provider of LTE signalling solutions, and ClearSky Technologies, a leading provider of mobile data services to regional wireless carriers, jointly announced today that they successfully completed interoperability testing for LTE roaming. The collaboration interconnects ClearSky’s hosted LTE Service Suite with TNS’s recently announced Data Services Hub IPX service while using Diametriq’s Diameter Edge Appliance to manage traffic at the edge of the IPX network and to simulate 3rd party roaming partners. The objective of the trial was is to simulate various elements in the visited network that would enable TNS to exercise roaming test scenarios with its operator clients, enabling smooth on-boarding of new operators. April 10th 2013: According to a new research report from the analyst firm Berg Insight, the total value of the global real-time mobile location-based advertising and marketing (LBA) market will grow from €526 million in 2012 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 65 per cent to €6.5 billion in 2017. Advertising spending on the internet jumped 12.5 percent in Britain last year, defying a flagging economy as companies battled to reach consumers spending more time on smartphones and tablet computers.

April 10th 2013. The Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) said on Wednesday a study conducted by PwC showed spending on online advertising reached 5.42 billion pounds in 2012.
The study, which used data from companies that had provided information the previous year, said internet ad spending rose 607 million pounds on 2011, with some 323 million pounds due to an increase in mobile advertising. Continue reading

Rhino deployed by Vodafone Netherlands to ensure continuity of operator services across Legacy and LTE standards

Telecoms software innovator, OpenCloud, has announced that Vodafone Netherlands has chosen its open-standards based Rhino products to support the forthcoming launch of Vodafone’s LTE services. OpenCloud’s support of the deployment of LTE services follows an agreement that was signed in December 2012. OpenCloud will supply Vodafone with its Rhino SIS service-broker/SCIM and Rhino Sentinel to help converge services between legacy GSM and LTE domains in order to ensure continuity of service for all Vodafone’s subscribers regardless of handset capabilities and LTE coverage.
