M-Days – a congress and trade fair for mobile solutions and technologies will be held between February 5th- 6th 2013 at Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre, Germany. In its eight year, the event declares itself to be the largest show dedicated to the mobile internet. As such it will attract speakers from the likes of Huawei, Microsoft and Adidas.In his keynote speech on the second day of the M-Days, David Gosen, European md for Digital, Online & Mobile will Nielsen will keynote on the second day. IRX claims to be the UK’s leading B2B exhibition for online and multi-channel retailers and the event is due to take place next year on March 20th-21st 2013 at the NEC in Birmingham, England. To illustrate how mobile phones can be put to good purposes – especially to help womenVodafone Group, and Sir Andrew the London Business School are organising a Mobile for Good Summit .It will be held later this month December 10th 2012 in London but is invitation only. Shame because some of the speakers are pretty well-know. The list includes Ex- UK Prime Minister’s wife, Cherie Blair; ex-Autonomy boss, Dr Mike Lynch; and Yafang Sun who is chairwoman of the board with Huawei. Vodafone also appears to have created an online app to publicise Mobile for Good. There’s also something called a TecSOS handset for women in danger from domestic violence. Continue reading

Historically, the GSMA always used to delay the registration process for media representatives for a while after regular attendees were allowed to register their interest in attending its flagship event – the Mobile World Congress. However, this is not the case with MWC Barcelona 2013. The registration process opened for absolutely everyone today [November 13th 2012]. Press need to go here. GoMobile News would urge all of its readers to register as soon as possible because this is very definitely a not-to-be-missed event and regarded by many as the place to be if you even remotely regard yourself as a shaker and mover in the mobile/cellular world. UK seminar to examine benefits of mobile operator payments

The Association for Interactive Media & Entertainment (AIME) is holding one of its knowledge & networking seminars – this one is entitled, ‘Mobile operator payments’. It is rather cheekily billed as ’50 Shades of Revenue… from mobile payments’ [if you get the reference to the book] or ‘How mobile operator-billed payments can drive new sales and increase revenues … in ways you can only fantasise about! The seminar is run in association with in association with sponsors Velti, ImpulsePay and SNR Denton. The organisers say that mobile is opening a bridge between the physical and digital worlds since mobile devices are in everyone’s pockets. The seminar will look at whether it be proven that charging Internet-discovered, electronic goods, games, apps and other entertainment services to the mobile phone bill, is a good idea for digital merchants? And, more importantly, is it an idea that will increase mobile revenues? The seminar takes place later in this month [October 23rd 2012] at the offices of SNR Denton in London. More details here .
