celtra logo feature Mobile advertising: what is Celtra, and why is it worth $5M?

Earlier this week, a mobile advertising company called Celtra made some waves by coming from pretty much nowhere to announce $5 million from it’s Series A funding round. That’s a whole lot of chedda for what was previously a relatively quiet company. So we’ve taken a little time to look at exactly who these guys are, what they do, who invested in them, and what their prospects might be. Continue reading

inmobi admob feature InMobi lunges for Admob’s throat, hands bent into savage claws

I think the thing I like most about mobile ad network InMobi is that it doesn’t really behave. It’s like the twinkly-eyed brat of the mobile advertising world, saying things it shouldn’t. When Apple launched iAds, InMobi resurrected one of the company’s own ads from the 80s to take a swipe at them. Last Friday, Admob released some stats about how great it’s ad serving capabilities are globally. Today we see InMobi’s response to those figures – and it’s quite aggressive. Continue reading

bango-white-paper Hot tips from Bango mobile ad campaign paper

Rating: Optimise for BlackBerry not iPhone

Here’s a little gem from Bango called ‘Measuring mobile campaigns – an audience with experts’. It’s a white paper aimed at companies and brands toying with the idea of using the mobile sector as a marketing tool or advertising medium. As you might expect, the paper does take the opportunity to plug Bango’s own offering in this area – Bango analytics. But it does incorporate advice and tips from other experts in the field. Here’s our favourite tip. Publishers say that most of their visitors possess iPhones. The reality is that you get twice as many visitors from BlackBerries than from iPhones so what you should really be doing is optimising your mobile web pages for BlackBerries. Pretty controversial, eh? Continue reading

There are two good things about winning a prestigious international award like the Smaato Mobile Advertising Award Overall Winner 2010 according to Joachim Bader, md with Clanmo. His company scooped the Top Prize thanks to a mobile app which the mobile agency had created for airline, Lufthansa. The first really big benefit is the recognition which winning the prize brings – “Especially with the client [Lufthansa] itself,” Bader told GoMo News.
