Cellufun mobile gaming and social networking adds virtual court

by: Bena Roberts Thursday, August 21st, 2008

I read the tagline of this email saying – Cellufun ads a mobile court. Now, you know I like Tennis and I know Cellufun are in gaming and I immediately thought of virtual tennis.  But I got the wrong end of the stick. This is  a court as in Court. You know men in white wigs, Perry Mason that sort of thing.

What?

Yes. Bullying is a huge problem in mobile and Cellufun is taking action.

• Cellufun is a mobile gaming/social networking community with over 5 million unique visitors and 80 million pageviews a month

• Virtual bullying is an emerging problem in all online communities, especially ones of this size

• to keep it friendly and civil, Cellufun has created a Virtual Justice system, with jurors (made up of members of the community) and jail time for abusive users

• in place for just over a week, it has had a huge deterrent effect on the number of cases of abuse

What we think?
Nice idea. Me like! But I want to see it and I am going to meet Cellufun at CTIA so will try and get a demo as I think that Virtual bullying on mobile is a problem that as a mother I would like to keep my eyes on.
