Rating: Text Claus campaign yields top Christmas wishes
Whether or not you think Santa really needs to be “updated”, it’s hard to deny that the recent Text Claus campaign from Sprint was a nice idea. Featuring a young, metro Santa, the idea was that if you text your Christmas wish to a certain number, you stood a chance of winning a free Palm Centro.
The campaign was launched in conjunction with ChaCha, the mobile search and advertising company, and it has just released the list of the most popular (and the most weird) results:
Top 5 wishes
1) Cash – who wouldn’t want a bit of extra spending money this Christmas?
2) Electronics – gadgets will never go out of fashion. This wish is great news for handheld device makers… and pretty much everybody else involved in the mobile industry.
3) Cars – apparently the hybrid and electrical cars were the most sought after.
4) World Peace – aw, bless. It is Christmas time after all.
5) Love – Ah, love. It may not have made it above money, or cars, or even electronic gadgets but, uh…
Off-the-wall requests
1) Fame – a movie role in the up-and-coming product of “New Moon” (the second book in the Twilight series).
2) Exotic Trips- in particular, a trip to Japan to go and visit the Volks doll company to make a doll.
3) Sports – for the Yankees to sign Mark Teixeria.
4) Animals – is there a pot belly pet pig under you tree this year?
Heart-wrenchers
1) “That my little sister gets over her eating disorder”
2) “My grandparents are pretty old and have trouble walking, so for Christmas, I want them to get matching scooters or mobile chairs.”
3) “The doctors can find someone who has the same bone marrow as my mom so she won’t die.”
