Chat on Mobile Advertising with Paran Johar CMO Jumptap

Paran Johar from Jumptap often says that he is not the mobile expert he is the advertising expert. He proved this to me last week at the MEF when we met up for a cup of tea. So, I sat down with him not knowing how the short meeting with go and to my joy; I sat there most of the time wide mouth wide and writing.

Paran gave me insight and knowledge into the mobile advertising agency industry. He told me what agencies there were, which clients they had, what types of mobile advertising services were on offer and how the agencies were managed.

Yikes. My pen nearly set alight. But that is what it’s all about. Normally, when I talk to mobile search guys we get all excited and bullish on the market and have a face off of who has the most knowledge (I like to win). But, with Paran. I didn’t even try. He knew about advertising agencies.

He told me how he had come from visiting several mobile agencies and mobile inventory wouldn’t be in short supply much longer as it’s all about education adding mobile to an already set equation in the mobile advertising world.

Well, what can I say. Jumptap is making waves in advertising that are setting it apart. The WPP (invested in Jumptap) is only helping the company and hiring ad-agency gurus must be a good move.

I have just tried Medio’s mobile advertising services and it’s not fair (to compare) as JumpTap has a huge head start on the market – but will try and do some kind of overview of all the advertising services out there in an article.
