CloudZync puts two hard hitters on board

CloudZync, the mobile wallet company, has revealed the latest high-profile additions to the firm’s non-exec board are Paul Bartholomew-Keen and Richard Conway. The company has also taken this opportunity to announce the release of an app for Windows Phone (WP8)users. So CloudZync is now available on iOS, Windows 8 as well as Windows Phone. Mark Seddon, CloudZync’s CEO, claimed, “We’re not just building the best mobile wallet in the market – we’re building the best team to compete in the payments space.”

Paul Bartholomew-Keen is a highly experienced payments leader with a deep understanding of how credit is issued the payment landscape is adapting to technology trends.

Previously, Paul was md with RBK Money, one of the major payment platforms in Russia/CIS, and prior to that he was md of epay, the UK’s largest provider of mobile airtime top-up services.

Richard Conway’s appointment will connect CloudZync with Microsoft’s influential steering committee for cloud and mobile services as well as high profile Microsoft customers including the likes of Lloyds TSB.

Conway also brings his expertise in utilising Microsoft’s Windows Azure Platform to the CloudZync table.

This should help to ensure that the leading innovators in the mobile wallet space will be able to take advantage of improvements to Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure as soon as they are implemented.

Paul Bartholomew-Keen, observed, “Today’s consumers and businesses demand better ways to interact with available technologies and make the purchasing of goods and services hassle-free.”

CloudZync believes that Paul’s years of insight into payment innovation will give them an edge when they increase their level of competition with the incumbent card network providers.

“The Cloud puts smaller market entrants on a competitive par with larger payments providers that have to manage far larger costs and infrastructures to give the same level of service,” said Richard Conway.

He added, “CloudZync, as the name suggests, are at the forefront of a revolution which will bring disruption to the market and greater far greater cost-benefit to the consumer as a result. I’m very excited to be part of their emergent strategy.”

Merchants can download the Zwallet Terminal app for free from the Apple App Store here and Windows Phone Store here, with Android to follow later in 2014.
