Colibria
Colibria is to provide TeliaSonera with a hosted solution for Mobile Instant Messaging. Colibria will provide the MSN Live Messenger solution in order to keep mobile subscribers and PC users connected, seamlessly.

From the press release:
Indra Åsander, Vice president and Head of Content Mobility Services at TeliaSonera AB said, ‘With 1.5 billion mobile devices in the world today and more than three times the number of PCs, we recognise that MIM has enormous market potential. The accessibility and great user experience of MIM make it a compelling proposition for us and our subscribers.’

Keith Gibson, CEO at Colibria commented, ‘The huge success of both SMS and IM as independent applications speak for themselves: over 750 billion text messages were sent last year and in excess of 200 million people use PC instant messaging globally. Providing TeliaSonera with the new MIM service will enable them to offer a new service to these markets and create the opportunity for enhanced revenue streams.’

What we think?
GoMo News is a fan of any company and mobile operator that facilitates Mobile IM. But serving only the MSN community is not enough and there must be a stronger call for interoperability between all IM services.
