What we think?
Now, I like MyStrands and the company also sponsored our GoMo News blender at MWC; but the idea of this competition is confusing. I am not sure if they are worried about their existing technology or are worried about the competition. Or if it’s just a way of driving traffic to MyStrands.
Yesterday during the conference in Berlin, two Spanish mobile operators had slides with MyStrands at the head of a music recommendation strategy. I am not sure if they are public; but MyStrands seems to be hitting the right notes.
But the competition is an innovative, be it strange idea. I did meet one company recently that I will send this link to. They were doing visual recommendation. This is where the icons, favicons, services were visually recommended to users using the same or similar services.
The only trouble was again about the patents – and they did ask me not to mention them until they were ready.
