. CTIA Thursday Round up

CTIA - It’s thursday! A quick round up

Posted by admin on Sep 12, 2008 0:55

Well CTIA rolls on! It’s another gorgeous day here in San Francisco. I have been trailing Brian Lent from Medio for the last couple of days but even I can’t keep up with his packed day today!. Hopefully I will grab Brian at the end of the day before he flies out and get his view of CTIA 2008 San Francisco.

But what do I think? Well I have to say it’s been fun. Working with the team at Medio has been great, and I will follow up the video blogging with a piece about Medio and Brian Lent next week. I have also managed to spend some time on the show floor. Personally i didn’t think there was anything with a total show stopping experiance but I have seen some cool things. Again I have some video interviews and demo’s that will appear here on GoMo next week.

I did see Skyfire last night and i thought that was very interesting. Skyfire for those who don’t know is a thin client browser that sits on the phone while a server does optimisation of the web for a mobile device. It looked fast and I shall download and try it out. Also last night at Mobilefocus Pepcom Virgin USA were showing of their new Shuttle handset.

While down on the Nokia stand Molly Schonthal pointed me towards some exciting software developments by third parties for Nokia handsets. I met Jennifer Zanich from Xumii and their very cool social networking aggregation app that pulls all your friends from Myspace, Facebook et all into one standalone application on your Nokia handset. I shot a video with Jennifer and that will be appearing here on GoMo next week.

Myself and Paul just had a fantastic meeting with Jonathan Slater from Mobile Future watch out for Paul’s piece. Jonathan was a fascinating guy who has a passion about educating both business and the political movers and shakers about each others respective positions.

Ok well thats me for now. More from CTIA real soon.
