CTIA: Medio uSearch mobile search content partner program
Medio is launching a content partner programe for its universal search (uSearch) offer.
What?
Apparently this is a new program for content partners that have high quality content. It seems as though that Medio already plugs into content sources from over 300 content providers but is opening this up to incorporate more providers.

Powered by exclusive personalization and analytics technologies, Medio uSearch will offer relevant answers from across the mobile world.
“The Medio Mobile Content Partner Program is the first step in creating the most intuitive, user-friendly universal search experience available,” said Brian Lent, CEO of Medio Systems. “We have enlisted category leaders to provide the information that mobile users want. The caliber of these partners is a strong indication that our universal search will provide the best content experience in mobile.”
What we think?
I am not sure if I understand this so I will speak to Brian Lent tomorrow for some clarification. If i read it correctly this is a publisher and content partner program for content and feeds that Medio can use to add relevancy to search results.
There is one search box (universal uSearch) but results will be delivered by indexing the content of these providers in the program to deliver relevant search.
I think that it is it. I am not sure how its different of what happens already and if its Medio’s new push for federation. But whatever it is, uSearch is a sexy brand name. I love it!
I think it knocks Yahoo!’s oneSearch off the blocks for simplicity. But universal search is also a term that Google users online. I am not sure if Medio is pushing for an online style search experience or a made for mobile one.
I have wasted a lot of meetings with Medio guys having too much fun and going out - but tomorrow I am going to interview them with my boxing gloves on to get the most information possible.
