Mobile messaging service provider Fun Text (www.sendfuntext.com) today announces that it has signed a content deal with social expression content giant American Greetings.  Under the deal, Fun Text will roll out American Greetings’ content on its mobile emotional messaging service. The deal includes access to a portfolio of Smiley, wink and emoticon content which has generated over 600 million downloads for MSN and other Instant Messenger services on the web.

What we think?

I like the idea of the emotion SMS behind Fun Text - but I also think this is a very tough competitive market. With competitor Vidiator doing a deall with Hallmark the market for different types of greeting cards is there. But are users savvy enough to use them and to integrate or send IM greeting cards - I think it might be a long while before this happens.
