emoze faster draw than BlackBerry in mobile push email showdown
Rating: BlackBerry juiced

emoze claims it was victorious in the mobile push email showdown with BlackBerry at 3GSM last week. Apparently two duellers using emoze and BlackBerry handsets battled it out to see who could provide users with their emails fastest. emoze won.
The would-be gunslingers stood back to back with their respective handsets – one a BlackBerry, the other an ordinary mobile phone with the emoze push email application installed. A Gmail account was opened and the email address given to the two who each created an email on their handsets, walked three paces and on the count of three, turned around and pushed ’send’. The emoze email appeared in the inbox first.
BlackBerry’s maker, RIM, provided email on the hoof when there was no other elegant way of doing it and consequently has built itself a substantial market share, aided by great design, such as the Pearl. However, it will be the likes of emoze that will erode that market dominance, enabling an ordinary phone to receive email.
We checked on emoze’s web site. The email software can be downloaded free of charge and even my Razr V3 and Apple OSX-driven desktop can be supported as well as lots of BlackBerry models.
The fly in the ointment of course is that you also need a data package from your operator, which as we all know can make life expensive, negating the free emoze software. 2007 though is the year when operators are under pressure as never before to offer flat rate data tariffs. emoze will just add to it.
