Enterprise app from Wells Fargo goes from Blackberry to iPhone
I’ve always been impressed with Wells Fargo when it comes to mobile services. It’s a financial institution that has always been willing to try new things on mobile, and try to pre-empt customer needs in the space. Now it has announced that its CEO Mobile service on Blackberry is being launched as an iPhone app.
CEO Mobile?
As pun-based names go, it’s not too bad. In this case, CEO stands for Commercial Electronic Office. The CEO Portal is an on-line service for businesses that allows subscribers to access any finanical service their business might need, manage their accounts, compile and download reports and set up automatic alerts by email, SMS or (ahem) fax.
CEO Mobile is simply the mobile version of the same service. Originally created for the device of happy businessman, Blackberry, Wells Fargo claims the iPhone app has been released due to consumer demand.
If you’re already a paid-up user of CEO Portal or CEO Mobile, you automatically get access to iPhone app, which allows you to monitor up to 20 accounts, fully manage incoming or outgoing wires, view your accounts, manage your fraud protection and manage users/passwords.
What we think?
I first started watching Wells Fargo when it very quietly launched a brilliant mobile banking app for iPhone back in May. That one was aimed at consumers, but we’ve been waiting to see what moves it would make in the enterprise sector. Wells Fargo bought international financial institution Wachovia last year, and has been launching mobile services for banks through that channel. And the Wells Fargo panelist at the Mobile Commerce World event in San Francisco gave a great indication of just how dedicated it is to consumer and enterprise mobile banking. Can I say I’m excited about what Wells Fargo will do next? I can? Great. I’m excited about what Wells Fargo will do next.
