Fantasy football mobile game introduces advanced multiplayer options

SANCO’s football manager game for mobiles phones launched at the start of the current football season. Mobile Club Manager lets users step into the managers shoes in conjunction with Premiership matches. But users also wanted to play games between Premiership fixtures, so SANCO has added a new “Friendlies” option. This allows players to have matches against friends whenever they want.

From the release:

“As part of our programme of continuous development we have an ongoing dialogue with our users,” says SANCO head of gaming, Shahid Mohamed, “and it was clear from their feedback that, in addition to the training games already available, they wanted to become more involved during the week between the weekend round of Premiership matches. In response, with the launch of ‘Friendlies’ power is now fully in the hands of users who can play as many games as they choose, simply by nominating any other Mobile Club Manager. Not only can they schedule matches at a time to suit them, it also takes the element of competition to an important new level.  And, for the many ‘Stattos’ out there, by playing more matches successfully against your friends it allows you to up your win ratio and show your rivals who is ‘top dog’!”

What we think?

Frankly, I’m shocked that a “massively multiplayer” mobile game didn’t allow players to play whenever they wanted from the very start. Now that this function is in place, Mobile Club Manager could really be huge. I remember how many guys I knew were fanatic about football manager games. Even people who would never otherwise have played computer games were obsessed with them. Getting that audience hooked on a mobile game that’s always with them could be great money spinner.
