Fetch Media steals digital Champion from Amobee

Rating: Only weeks after hiring Bigmouthmedia’s Steve Leach

Mobile marketing agency, Fetch Media, has proved it continues to attract major new talent by announcing the appointment of Matt Champion. The news comes just weeks after Bigmouthmedia founder and technology entrepreneur, Steve Leach, joined the mobile agency as chairman. In the first six months of 2012, Fetch’s revenues have grown in excess of 500 per cent compared to the same period in 2011. Fetch Media co-founder, James Connelly, commented, “Matt is a key hire for the business as we move through our rapid expansion programme here and overseas.”

Champion has been appointed to the position of media services director at Fetch Media. His role will encompass end-to-end mobile media planning and buying, app promotion, strategy and execution.

“So far we’ve only glimpsed the potential of mobile marketing, and I’m looking forward to working towards keeping Fetch Media and their clients at the forefront of this very exciting industry,” Champion commented.

He can boast over twelve years’ experience in digital and has moved from mobile technology company Amobee, where he was new business director.

Steve Leach’s arrival at Fetch was accompanied by a substantial investment in the company which should help to accelerate the agency’s already rapid growth.

“I’ve been keen to invest in this space for some time now and have researched the landscape extensively. I’m delighted to be involved with Fetch, which is at the top of its game,” said Leach.

Leach turned his ground-breaking vision – Bigmouthmedia, from a high-risk start-up in 1996 into a global sensation with turnover in excess of £100 million.
