First fruits of Rapid Mobile / Gamesys partnership available from tomorrow

Rating: Instant win and Bingo games from Gamesys hit mobile devices

Amendment: Due to a touch of  confusion in the Press Release, the claim made below that the first set of games from Gamesys on mobile are just now available is a mistake – it’s just the first festive themed batch of games that are now appearing!

Back in July, GoMo revealed that Gamesys had chosen Rapid Mobile to deliver its hugely popular on-line bingo and instant win games to mobile. Well, from tomorrow, you’ll be able to enjoy the first batch of results from that union.

Mobile gamers will be able to access the same content from the Gamesys Jackpotjoy family that they can download from the on-line site, as well as games specially released for the festive season. Its first casino-style offering, Blackjack, will be available for Christmas, with more to follow in 2009. Rapid Mobile claims its ThinkPhone Deliver platform will place the games on any possible handset.

What we think?

Again, it’s a sign of just how challenging it is to move anything through the mobile web that it took these two companies five months to launch a game line-up after the original announcement. When these companies got together during the Summer, things looked a lot cheerier. Now it’s the cold mid-winter of the recession, and people are wary of opening their purse-stings. Entertainment and gaming companies are set to get it the worst, but will the backing of an already successful on-line presence keep this new venture going?
