Mobile Web 2.0: Will you flirt with me?
Mark Curtis from Flirtomatic gave a great presentation at Mobile Web 2.0. He also unveiled some fantastic stats and offered anyone to come and check the stats and how they were calculated.
(I will post them here when back in office- am currently at the airport)
I asked him afterwards if I could do this - he said “sure”. In fact, he embraced it.
Why?
Well, I raised the question of click fraud and mobile fraud and high traffic numbers and figures that start-ups seemed to be using just to get the eyes of investors. Mark made a point of saying that analytics were everything and he could prove that his numbers were 150% real.
I have to say, I really respect that. But anyway - that is not the point of this article.
I fell in love with a new service from Flirtomatic. You can now “delete your freak”.
This means that if you get a bad review or message or flirt vote - you simply pay to have it removed.
Wow.
What a fabby simple fresh and good way of generating revenue. What I also found interesting is that Mark described Flirtomatic as an entertainment company - even having seen the service online - I didn’t get this.
I thought it was like a dating service as well - but it isn’t. I am going to sign up again and will take some screenshots of services.
