We all say that voice is the killer, but will a voice social networking service work? Foonz is going to find out. Basically it’s a free service that allows users to call a group of people instantly – for free. This is regardless of the mobile operator or service provider.
How?
1. Sign-up at www.foonz.com
2. Create a group and name it e.g. boy scouts
3. Dial the special foonz number and invite the group to join the call.
4. Foonz uses SMS to invite people to join the group calls.
5. If no one can join the call a “group” voice mail will be left
6. Voice messages can also be left without even starting the call.

But is it really free?

No. Users have to pay for the voice minutes that the use. So, these minutes are deducted from bucket rate plans. But signing up for foonz is free. It is a way of calling a number of people in one go – or leaving a voice mail in one instant…. But what is the business model?

It is likely that adverts and will start being injected into this service as it gains momentum as free is not sustainable – especially with voice.
