Rating: Just pretend you don’t know the RAZRs have already launched
You have to admire Motorola’s timing. Just hours before a certain big event takes place in San Francisco around 6 pm (here in Blighty), the company has sent UK hacks an intriguing invite. We’re asked to attend an “exclusive launch event” six days from now – Tuesday 18th September . It’s entitled, “Let us take you to the Edge”. Given that this launch is co-hosted with Intel, it isn’t too difficult to guess what the event will showcase. As a hint we intend to publish the full specs of the new RAZR M, RAZR HD and DROID RAZR MAXX HD here. The event is to take place at 10 am UK time and if you’re peeved at not being invited you can follow it on Facebook here or via Intel here. The YouTube trailer is below
Our US readers will probably be unaware that Motorola Mobility hasn’t talked to us officially about the abovementioned products even though the news about them came out last week [September 6th 2012].
GoMobile News is an enormous fan of the current Motorola RAZR handset which we’d rate as the best Android handset in our opinion.
Can’t understand why it’s so underrated. Hopefully, this time round Motorola will create more of a buzz with the new RAZRs.
We were especially intrigued by this addendum to the US press release …
“Calling All Devs and Mod Enthusiasts
The beauty of Android lies in personalization and customization. For developer and custom ROM enthusiasts, DROID RAZR M and DROID RAZR HD will come in a special developer edition available online only through motorola.com in the U.S. Tweak, tinker and customize the day away by using Motorola’s software tools to unlock the bootloader. Warning: not for the faint at heart. Warranties will be voided.”
As a footnote, Motorola says in countries outside the USA, the device will ship with an unlockable bootloader where operators allow.
