Get buzzd and have a great night out - allegedly!

by: admin Thursday, June 26th, 2008

buzzd, a location-based city guide and social network on the mobile device, announced today that it has a database of over 1.2 million venues across the United States with reviews, addresses and other features after launching just four months ago.

Available without the need to download an application, buzzd is available through a mobile web page. It’s features include real-time user generated content where members can gain access to reviews, address and other information about venues and allows the end user to blast their location. buzzd can also be accessed on-deck with Helio and the company hope to announce further on-deck soon.

Said CEO and Co-founder of buzzd Nihal Mehta, “In local entertainment, venues change their name, management, ownership and location often, so a consistently updated, crowd-sourced database is key to finding out the best events and places to enjoy.”

One in 10 venues on the buzzd network have been added by the buzzd community itself and, thanks to a new user submission tool, additions are verified by buzzd before posting to avoid the duplication of venues and events.

Users can also browse and search continuously updated event feeds which include pricing, location and event details. Events and locations are available nationally and aggregated through partnerships with CitySearch, Flavorpill, TimeOut New York and Zagat, with plans to roll out even more content partnerships in local markets. User-generated feedback (or “buzzes”) for real-time activity surrounding venues and events is also aggregated at the top of event listings throughout the platform.

So if any of you are out at the weekend then let us know if you get buzzd. Send Photos to the usual address!
