GoMo Buzzwatch: Nokia’s Ovi store begins global roll-out with soft launch

Beginning with Australia, Nokia‘s Ovi service began it’s global roll-out today. Early reports indicate this is a soft launch of the mobile content service, for testing purposes. Nokia plans a full, official launch at a later date.

As reported on All About Symbian, the service is now live in Australia, Ireland and Singapore – although it’s not exactly easy to find. It’s not currently being pushed, so you can find it by refreshing your Download section, and finding it in the Extra’s category

Early user reports say there’s very few apps or games available currently, with no Facebook or Youtube widgets available.

The official Nokia blog, Nokia Conversations, apparently confirmed that the store is moving to ‘production servers’, and to keep an eye out for ‘a broader announcement and consumer availability soon’ – although this page has since been removed!
