GoMo News Running the Gauntlet DRAMA as the business plan sent in
Rating: what a day
So, on Saturday I was quite cocky. The plan for Running the Gauntlet was finished and I wanted to send it to an investor guru friend of mine just to OK before I sent it in two days early.
After he reviewed it he said, “Bena, cut the crap motherhood, put in more stats and then it will be a business plan”.
I nearly died. My pride, my work of art my baby business plan rubbished!
But not one to mess around I started it again and on Sunday I tweaked and tweaked it. Then I took my friends offer and sent it to him again. This morning he sent it back to me saying,
“Bena. I don’t know what to say. I would still not invest in you based on this plan”.
I died. I didn’t cry. I just gulped. Then I did something, strange but true. At 8am this morning. I deleted the business plan and the executive summary and started the whole thing again. I didn’t move, I didn’t eat and I didn’t feed the dogs (I did take the kids to school though). Then I wrote the whole executive summary first. Then I redid the slides saving perhaps only two of the existing ones (but shoving them in the appendix).
At 3pm this afternoon with only one hour to spare – I sent the business plan to Running the Gauntlet.
What a day.
What do I think? Well to be honest I am nervous now as no one saw the new version apart from me and then I sent it off. So I have no idea. I am no longer bullish, I am perhaps a bit green and this investment lark is perhaps a tad more difficult than I imagined.
But its done now and now I am going to focus 150% on the presentation. Next Running the Gauntlet event is Tuesday… which is the staged Dragons Den environment where I have to present for ten minutes…
