GyPSii – geo location on Nokia N95 and 6110 Navigator

When you read this press release from GyPSii – it says the company combines: is a web-based application - a social networking platform, location-based news and services such as search and friend-finder, and user generated content-creation and sharing.

It sounds almost too good to be true. In a way it might be as the company is very early getting its feet in the social networking geo-location space; where companies and such as Loopt and clicmobile have been brandishing leadership.

But despite that I am a quiet fan of GyPSii and that is not because I am quoted in the press release – its because of the credibility of the team. I know this bunch of guys and I think that a lot has happened - but more importantly – a lot more needs to be done in this space and this team wants to make it happen.

Why?
Basically, GyPSii has the white label vision to connect brands, manufactures and content providers with consumers. Its about offering anyone the ability to use a mobile phone to interact. So far geo-location services are targeted at segments but GyPSii is a solution for global consumption. The real estate is the fact that it a flexible offering with only one thing in mind – the ability and chance to put location and social networking onto the centre stage.

But apart from that - getting in on Nokia devices can only be good!
