Hectic day from Nuance to GyPSii– life of analyst blogger up date
Rating: China Tangy dinner
So I left Nuance, hooked up with a guy from 3 and went into central London. Then I met two executives for tea at the Dorchester on Park Lane (more next week) ….before I had dinner with GyPSii. GyPSii is the new brand or the white label GPS location social brokerage portal from the guys from ex-Benefon and GeoSentric Solution.
The dinner was an intro into the company and a chance to speak about social networking, search, community, GPS and the future.
So, I managed to find the cloakroom put all my things away and then tried to find the restaurant China Tang where the event was taking place. In true GoMo News style I looked for the directions.
There was a man in a dinner jacket covering the sign, so I went up to him and asked, “excuse me, may I look at the sign”. To my horror – it was Steve Cram. Yes. The Steve Cram I can run faster than you Gold medallist Olympic whatever and next to him was I can jump for longer than you Jonathan Edwards.
I couldn’t even gulp as the next drama occurred. David Hemmery 1968 400 meters medal winner fell over in the lobby.
Because I am cool, I pretended I didn’t notice but couldn’t help staring all the same.
Then when I got into the restaurant: O2’s Mike Short had had his wallet stolen on a bus – just as I was mugged on the bus yesterday.
Dear me.
Anyway – it was a great evening with lots of conversation and because its nearly midnight I am going to write about it tomorrow. As I head to the airport at 4.30am - Oh Dear x2.
Here is a list of the participants of the dinner….

Paul Goode – M:Metrics
Catherine Haslam - GSMA
Shane Lennon - GeoSentric
Bengt Nordstrom - Verisign
