Google responds to Microsoft’s Yahoo deal slam
Yahoo! and Google have signed a deal in Japan, where Google will power search and search ads for Yahoo! This caused Microsoft’s lead lawyer Brad Smith to come out strongly against it, declaring it “even more anti-competitive” than a similar deal Google attempted in 2008.
Now Google has come back, calmly pointing out several key differences between the two deals – which includes Yahoo! still managing its own ads and remaining a completely independent company.
Millenial Media gears up for 2011 IPO
As Quattro and AdMob were bought out by Apple and Google, a question many asked was “what about Millenial?” One of the largest mobile advertisers in the world, it has just answered the question itself. The company is powerful enough to compete directly with AdMob or Quattro, and it is speculated that it is readying itself for an Initial Public Offering next year

Augme and Inmar join forces for mobile coupons
Mobile content company Augme delivers optimised content to mobile devices from pretty much any source, but specialises in tags and barcodes. It has announced a deal with digital coupon clearing house Inmar – they’ll be creating a service aimed at brands, which will allow them to launch “purchase-incentive” campaigns for consumers.
Alamo uses nuAlerts SMS for local marketing
The Alamo Chamber of Commerce has launched its very own mobile advertising scheme for local businesses. Any member of the Chamber can use the scheme, created by nuAlerts, to send SMS about upcoming events or promotions to Alamo residents.
