How on device clients transform mobile phones

Rating: its easy to have a “own-branded phone”

Nokia’s N-Gage is not a device but software. The Gphone is also going to be software; today I just downloaded O-Navi from Das Oertliche (German Yellow and White Pages) and that has further transformed my device to a navigation unit.

This is the revolution and spending money on creating new devices such as the Armani phone or Prada phone is probably not sustainable in the long run. An Armani client, however that could be downloaded on to any device to make it sexier might work.

Every branded mobile search company is launching an on device portal (client) and this is the new revolution. Simple, downloadable, reliable.

Well at least it should be. My experiences so far with the O-Navi is that it works like a dog. Lethargic and a messy small interface only (dare I say it) Germans would appreciate.
