Ian Carrington new EMEA Head of Mobile for Google

Google is finally taking its mobile strategy by the horns and has hired Ian Carrington to be its first Head of Mobile.

We all know that Apple is hiring like mad in Europe and has poached some top guys from Microsoft to do its dealings in Europe. In fact, if you haven’t been approached by a head hunter for an Apple EU job – then you need to update your CV!

Anyway who is this Mr. Ian Carrington?

Well according to The NMA, the source of this story; he is a long term Google employee formerly the head of advertising finance.

What we think?
It doesn’t seem as though Ian has any real experience in pure mobile – so he must have been hired for his organisation and return skills. If this is the case then you can expect this team to grow rapidly.
