Rating: Some users of Chorus actually spend their money
With the estimated number of iPhone apps being anywhere between 130,000-150,000, envIO Networks reckons it has found the answer with its Chorus service.
An iPhone apps social network with a difference. This one claims its users have spent over $1 million on paid apps to date, with the average user recommending 75 friends to join the community.
Until now the Chorus service has been US-centric but from now onwards the company has decided to make it available in 90 additional countries worldwide. envIO claims it is localising the service for more countries as we speak.

Chorus community
The success of this service rests on envIO’s proprietary Social Genome technology which aims to match apps to people to make them highly relevant and personalised recommendations.
Naturally Chorus has the ability to enable its users to share apps through established social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.
Improvements which envIO claims to have made in this international version of Chorus include a simplified registration process and simplified AppPicker.
Plus there will be more reviews as it enables users to turn off ‘anonymity’ and share their choices with the whole Chorus community. To date, Chorus users have invited some 600,000 of their friends to join Chorus.
Chorus features real-time feeds from designated friends – displaying the top apps they are downloading, and what users are saying about them.
While envIO admits that nearly 80 per cent of apps download by Chorus users own are free, the other 20 per cent represents over a million dollars on apps.
The company also maintains that it aggregates opinions of leading experts via its AppMavens service so users can view reviews and ratings from trusted app reviewers on leading review sites.
