Using DeviceFidelity In2Pay iCaisse4X NFC
June 21st 2012. Proxama, the leading provider of near field communications (NFC) mobile wallet and mobile marketing technology, has announced that it will soon be able to deliver NFC marketing capability to iPhone users through its unique TagCenter NFC app. Proxama has partnered with DeviceFidelity. It is using the new iCaisse4X NFC battery pack sleeve, which can transform the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 4 into fully capable NFC devices. The sleeve will allow iPhone owners to download and use TagCenter to participate in NFC marketing campaigns. It will mean that advertisers will be able to offer consumers with iPhones promotional marketing content such as vouchers, loyalty incentives and video content that can be downloaded by touching an NFC-tagged poster.
Proxama has already enjoyed success with TagCenter having developed marketing campaigns for Nokia in conjunction with partners such as VOX cinemas to offer free cinema tickets and popcorn; a promotional campaign for Orange that ran in-store at EAT’s UK high street outlets offering ‘Quick Tap Treats’ to customers; and it was used by participants at the recent Isobar/O2/Google hackathon in London to develop marketable NFC concepts.
The iCaisse4X NFC will also give iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 users the ability to make contactless payments by touching their devices on payment terminals.
Proxama has already been working closely with DeviceFidelity on this payment capability as it is supported in Proxama’s MasterCard Mobile Reference Kit which was announced back in November 2011.
Neil Garner, Founder of Proxama said: “Apple’s current lack of support for NFC in iPhone has been a topic of much discussion, especially as most other major handset manufacturers are now including NFC as a standard smart phone feature.
That’s why the iCaisse4X NFC is a welcome development, as it will enable iPhone owners to engage with NFC-led promotional campaigns.
When Apple launches an iPhone with NFC capability, users will be able to download TagCenter and enjoy the benefits NFC offers.”
“The partnership with Proxama allows us to exploit the rich functionality of the iCaisse4X NFC, to offer a growing range of NFC related use cases beyond just payments,” said Andy Ramsden, VP of Business Development for DeviceFidelity in Europe.
“Proxama’s expertise around NFC marketing opens up exciting opportunities for retailers and merchants, and for the first time to Apple users who have so far been excluded from NFC services.”
